Google Autocomplete Hates Moms

Technology is great, but I’m starting to wonder if it really knows what it’s doing. It’s starting to worry me, the kind of things that are popping up. Google autocomplete on my phone is being much more violent and aggressive towards mothers than it should be. Are a lot of people actually in need of reminders for this? Google, stop hating on mommas.

PageRank 3

You want to hear a good one? My blog. This little old website I started back in 2007, has gotten a Google PageRank of 3 as of press time. For being such a little blog that I was under the impression of that no one reads, this is a big deal for me. Just for giggles, I decided to check the PageRank of a popular blog which I read, The Bloggess, and as of press time, she also has a PageRank of 3. Her blog Continue reading →

Chromecast is Hilarity

Last week Google announced their Chromecast and the little, revolutionary device sold out in about two hours by my estimate. Not bad. I was fortunate enough to get my order in right before Amazon sold out (I opted for SuperSaver shipping, so it arrived yesterday). After having the device and playing with it for a day, I highly recommend that everyone get one. I had some friends over for dinner this evening and then we spend the following couple hours watching YouTube on my TV. Each Continue reading →

It was Lunchtime

I was on Google+, exploring the popular posts, and I came across one promoting a new feature in Google Docs. It’s the Docs Demo: Master’s Edition. You write and famous writers come in and edit it in their own voice. It’s silly but fun to play with. Here’s what I came up with (with the help of Shakespeare, Dickens, Poe, Dickinson, and Nietzsche). It was the best of times, it was… ” lunchtime” said she, in the same hurried passionate whisper. The time of diurnal course where a Continue reading →

Too Streamlined

I belated Happy International Women’s Day. Also, I have a problem. I’m starting to make my internet life too easy. I’ve reduced the majority of my internet activity to RSS feeds and I’ve imported all of them into Google Reader.   While this certainly makes my life easier and saves me a boatload of time because I’m not needlessly checking a bunch of websites all day, it also has left me confused and worried. My most visited pages in Chrome has started pulling up random Continue reading →

Growing Up

While I was home back in September, I was supposed to smoke a cigar with a couple of my friends. Due to time constraints, we were unable to so I was handed the cigar and we decided we’d figure it out later. This past weekend, we figured it out with the help of Google+ Hangouts (video chat supporting up to ten users at a time). Since it’s the middle of winter, I set up my apartment so I could smoke inside. This involved me closing Continue reading →

November – Day 30

I’ve survived. Let’s wrap this all up, shall we? I started the month with a few goals in mind. I wanted to take 30 Day Challenge to be a Better Man. I wanted to deactivate my Facebook account, at least for the month of November. I wanted to grow a mustache to support prostate cancer awareness. I wanted to write 50,000 towards my novel to finally win NaNoWriMo. And finally, I wanted to do 3,000 sit ups and 3,000 push ups in increase my health and Continue reading →
