August Updates

Blog, Motorcycles / Saturday, August 17th, 2013

I’m terrible at posting this month an it hurts me in my inner bits. I’m working on a couple of goals like I did in November 2011. I want to commit myself to writing every day for a month, for example. I think that would be good. However, I want to do one of the challenge months but I don’t have any particular ones in mind. If anyone reading this knows a good, 30 Days of Things to Write About on Your Blog, let me know because I want to start in September.

I’m also considering a website redesign because I realized I did things terribly wrong the last time. With the redesign I did of my work’s website, I learned that there are better ways to design WordPress themes. I want to do that. Also, as much as I love the design I have now, it’s starting to look dated. Seriously, I have “floating” boxes and limited scroll. I think that flat, clean designs are in vogue now. I want to jump on that bandwagon.

I have a real world project I’m working on. I bought an old moped for my girlfriend to use while she’s at school. Since I bought it one the cheap (it had a title), I knew there would be things I would have to replace/fix/upgrade but it’s consuming a lot of my web time as I shop for parts and it’s consuming the rest of my days when I’m not at work nor is the girlfriend over. Here’s a picture I snapped the day I picked it up:

1978 Honda Express NC50
It’s blurry and in pieces but once I’m done with her, she’s going to zip around the streets well above the stock 30mph limit.

In the last bit of news before I drive down to Chicago for the rest of the weekend (photos pending), I frustrated that I haven’t even started my profile picture redesign yet. It’s more than halfway through August and I usually start these things in June and tweak them for a couple of months. At least this time around, I know exactly what I want to do. That will save time but that doesn’t really mean I’ve gotten anywhere with it.
