Biking

So we are closing on the house next week and then moving in a week later. At that point, I’ll have a 6 mile bike ride to work or a 45 minute bus ride, with a transfer. I’m going to opt for the bike ride. I’ve biked year round before, when I worked for the UW Arboretum and it was a five mile bike ride to and from work. The distance doesn’t bother me, the roads do. Walking Home

As the winter gets colder, snowier, more icy, and just downright unbearable, it seems the busses in Madison get less reliable. The bus to work is usually on time, but after work I rarely take the bus these days.  I still leave work at 5:02 and head over to the bus stop. If I hadn’t Joined the Peace Corps

What might my life be like, if I hadn’t gone off to Ukraine with the Peace Corps? This question ran through my mind every single day I was there. I thought about it for hours upon hours. I’d sit on trains thinking about it, staring out at the Ukrainian countryside and sweating because everyone refused to open a window on the sweltering Summer days.
