I had the following text conversation this morning at work.

Ex-Boss: Hi danny can you please come in and help me with one thing on the website…I can pay you ten bucks an hour as a consultant
Me: Nope, no time.
Ex-Boss: How about later
Me: I work all day.
Ex-Boss: What time is good for you? 12 bucks and hr str8 up paid in full consultant fee not through payroll
Me: I work all day.
Ex-Boss: Come after or saturday or lunch…12 an hr tax free is pretty good..
Me: I make more at this job.
Ex-Boss: Just need the site files resored from the client easy peazy
Ex-Boss: Ucan do it over the awesome lunch I buy u
Me: Didn’t you hire another website programmer after I quit?
Ex-Boss: Fired right away never came in never responded to calls etc
Me: Well, I am going to have to pass on your offer.

For those of you who don’t know/remember, this is the boss from the god-awful job I had earlier this summer, highlighted in a blog post titled Resignation.

I won’t even start on the poor grammar and spelling, even for a text message. I can text better after a night of heavy drinking.

The man[sic] had trouble taking no for an answer. I half wish that this would have went on for another hour or so, but I had to end it. I wanted to see how much he was willing to shell out for my time. For the record, the end result was slightly less than double what I made while working there and this job was ‘easy peazy’.
