The other day I asked my best friend to write a recommendation for me for an application I am working on. I am required to have three; one from a supervisor from a job I have held, one from a supervisor from a volunteer position I have held, and one from a close friend I have known more than two years.

I had roughly the following conversation today:

Friend: Yeah, it asked me how long I have known you.
Me: Is ‘forever’ an option?
Friend: No, but I had a lot of trouble figuring it out. It asks for the month. We were five.
