I bought a lotto ticket today. I think today I might have better odds of winning than tomorrow or yesterday.

I am not a superstitious person. There is only one curse I believe in, the Curse of the Billy Goat. Other than that, things happen because they happen. things don’t happen solely because they don’t happen.

I know that the odds of rolling a seven on a pair of dice is the most common outcome. This is why people think the number seven is lucky.

Today is the 7777th day that I have been alive. Despite not believing in superstitions I think my odds of something good happening are greater today. I was given a set of random numbers, one of which is a seven. If it turns out that nothing comes of today, well then life will go on.

I know that I am not playing any dice games today. I know that it is just attaching a pointless meaning to a specific day.

But dammit, I bought a lottery ticket today.
