I am, and have been since Tuesday, officially declared as an English major with an emphasis on creative writing.

I am not sure if you know the joy that comes with being able to say that. I have been undeclared for the past two and a half semesters. For a while it was because I was trying to get into the school of Journalism. But for a while it was just that I never was able to get around to declaring.

At my meeting, the advisor informed me that I only need another twenty some credits to graduate which would give me twelve or thirteen credits for the next two semesters. Two light and easy semesters. She also informed me that it is possible for me finish my degree in the assumed standard of four years. That was a big relief because I thought I would be stuck here for an extra year. The main reasoning was that I didn’t think I would be able to take a class in time, but I was informed that all I needed to do was take one course over the summer and it should work out.

I have been a busy person lately. I put off doing a little work one day recently so I could hang out with some friends and I have been paying for it since. My course load is an unforgiving she-devil. I can happily say that I am nearly caught up and should be fully caught up by the end of the week.

Lately I have been poking around with some new projects. I have for some time wanted to make a short animation and I never could find a way to do it in a simple manner. But when I was messing around with a copy of Corel Painter X that I purchase a while back, I found some feature in it that will make movie making easy. So, that will be a project of mine in the next year that hopefully will not get stuck on the back burner.

When I was messing with Corel Painter X today, I created this for my own amusement. Enjoy!

Classes have been going well for me. I finally am getting a feel for all of my classes. One of them, Classics – Mythology, really makes me consider doing a double major in English and Classics. From taking this course, the two seem like the same thing but with different forms of literature.

A quote from my Classics teaching assistant:

“As you have already observed, I am quite the tool.”

Yeah.

I posted two new stories today. Both of them were weekly assignments for my writing workshop intended to have us practice a writing style. They can be found here and here. Enjoy.

I suppose that it all that is in my mind for now that I felt like writing. I will try and write more often, especially if I get fully caught up with schoolwork.
