Media writing and silence

I want to say that this week has been really productive and I was able to finish everything on time. That is true for the most part, but it wasn’t because I was working harder or anything. I just had less to do this week. I am not complaining.

I finally was able to finish Deadwood today. It was one of the best short lived TV series in my opinion. I wish it didn’t end quite so abruptly after three seasons. All of the actors in it did phenominal jobs. I guess now I need to find another TV show to occupy my time, especially now that finals are coming.

I watched Wall-E this evening. It was a great film. But I still walked away from it with a bit of sadness. I am happy that Eva ans Wall-E were together in the end. However, for some reason I wish that they could have been together, alone on the planet for eternity. The ideas of humans coming back to Earth is not appealing. Sure their intents will be right for a while, but eventually Earth will be fouled again and humans will be forced to leave. If Wall-E and Eva were to be alone, they could watch Earth slowly turn into a paradise that would not happen if the humans return. Maybe I am just being selfish.

I only have two more nights of work this semester, at my current job. After that I will hopefully be off somewhere else where the environment is just as good, but with a boss who doesn’t contradict himself in horrible ways. Take tonight for example. I accidentally saved over an important file that is included on each page of our site. Immediately I called my boss to ask how to revert it back. He tells me to hold on because he is playing some game online. Contrast this to nights where I would miss a hyphen at the end of a exerpt and it would be published with it. I would then get a call at three or four in the morning asking to fix that. (He obviously was at his computer at the time, so why didn’t he fix it?)

I think it was on Sunday I wrote my post saying I have a writer’s block. Well, I came home from work that night and was able to whip out a wonderful story to be used as a writing sample to get into a class. Yay for early morning writings.

I would like to write a pre-emptive apology for my absense in the next two weeks. Next week is crunch time for semester papers and the following week is exams. I will try to write once a week (and will most likely write more to procrastinate), but if I do not I apologise.

Oh, this also caught my eye. If I think it applies to me, it is because I have watched too many television shows in my day and I have molded myself into a mixture of main characters.
