Halloween Costume 2012

Peace Corps / Friday, November 9th, 2012

I know this is at least a week past relevance but I thought I’d share it anyway because it made my laugh and be uncomfortable for an entire day.

Jacque and I have been stuck together during our entire Peace Corps. We planned to take a taxi from the airport together (her plane was late so I only traveled with Dave). She randomly came into the conference room and sat at my table. We both decided to find a reasonably priced beer in Georgetown, and succeeded (more on that later). We both got stuck in DC for a few days while the embassy sorted out our visas. We both ended up in the same training cluster and then when it came time for site announcements, Jacque and I were placed in the same region, same oblast, two hours away from each other.

We have spent more than our fair share of time together. It’s safe to say that we know a bit about each other. All that being said, I opted to go along with her idea for a Halloween costume this year instead of doing my standard, overplayed Clark Kent. We decided to be each other. Here’s how we looked:

I think she does a better job looking like me, but that’s because everything she is wearing is stereotypical Danny clothing. If you know me, then you know it to be true.

Word of advice to any guys. Don’t wear short dresses, heels, sunglasses, and leggings. Your male friends might uncomfortably stare at you. Further warning, middle school aged children will definitely stare and then run away when they hear you talk and realize you’re a dude.
