Why am I here?

Here’s the thing, I do my job because I’m the best person for it. You do your job because you’re the boss. If you don’t trust my opinion on things then why am I in the position I’m in. We aren’t here to cater to your every whim, we are here to keep a failing company afloat. A company that needs to be kept afloat because you’ve slowly sunk it.

One of your former employees brought to my attention the phrase, “she had lunch”. Which basically says you went out to lunch with someone this week, they told you about a new trend, and you decided to drastically alter the company direction as a result. You do this so often, it’s tempting to try to sell you a weight loss solution.

Time after time,  I have used my knowledge of websites to try to take two steps forward with what we are doing. And time after time you have not liked it because so-and-so said they didn’t like it or do it that way. You tried to organize the company this year so we can work more independent of you but you are painfully unaware of your own need to feel important and make decisions. These aren’t decisions to be made. And if they are, they should be made by the team tasked with the project.

For what it’s worth, I know you’re the boss and someone made you the boss for a reason, but just because you are doesn’t mean you’re infinitely more wise than everyone else. What’s it take for you to trust the fulltime person who has been at the company the longest?
