Two Years In

Today, I’m finishing up the first two years at my job. What a wild two years it has been.

When I started, there were just three of us working full-time out of my boss’s condo. Everyone did a bit of this and a bit of that, and we mostly hobbled by. Then, we started brining on more staff. Someone to do this or that, some part-time and some full-time. And we grew, and grew. We built too, new products which were meant to change the game for us.

Then we moved into a real office after I had been there nearly a year. I had a desk, with a view, and we continued to grow. We built more, and I started to lead that building. We hired more, and I started to have some responsibility for those people. I started to do more and affect more and more.

Now, of the original three, I’m the only one left. One of the part-time people is still here too. We’ve gone through so many changes in two years. There have been ups and downs and a fear that tomorrow won’t come for the company. I’ve thought about leaving many times and I will think about it many times more.

Ultimately, I love what we do. I would do things differently, but only on an operational level. I cannot wait to see what the next two years look like.
