Terrarium

A couple of years ago Ellie had a terrarium on her Christmas wish list. My mom looked into getting her one. It quickly found out how expensive they are. Like crazy expensive for what it is. If you haven’t looked, I recommend checking prices on them now so you know what I’m saying. Yeah, expensive for a plant.

Anyway, fast forward to this year. My mom pulled through and found a great way to give the gift Ellie had wanted. My mom found a thing called Plant Nite where you go to a bar and put together your own terrarium.  It’s a similar concept as the wine and painting nights, with just a different take away.

So last night, a Tuesday, Ellie and I went to a bar to put together our terrariums. And it was fun. The instructor led us through the process, which seems pretty simple in retrospect but if I was doing it myself, I would not have known where to begin.

We planted succulents in our glass globes. Then we layered colored sand on the outside. On top of that, we placed colored stones. Then came the fun stuff, decorations. Moss, dinosaurs, snowmen, bells, trees, and a whole bunch of other things. They really came together with the last pieces.

Now I’m on the bus with my terrarium, ready to put it on my desk. Ellie is doing the same with hers.
