Gym membership

Here’s what I want, a gym membership I can pay for on a month to month basis, and it doesn’t cost extra for doing so.

Ellie and I just got out of our membership to a gym because we stopped going because it was on the other side of town. The co react we signed with them said we needed to move at least 20 miles from the nearest branch to get out of it. We didn’t. I used one of my health insurance bills which are sent to my parents house as proof we “moved”. They bought it. We had to pay a cancellation fee, which was a other way of ripping us off, but it was worth it in the end.

Gym memberships are silly. Ellie and I want one for the winter only, where it’s too cold to get all our exercise outdoors. But once it warms up, we don’t ever consider the gym. And who would? I can run and walk and swim and bike outside for free. But to work out I. The winter, I’m still paying for it in the summer.

I want a membership on demand. It’s probably what everybody wants. I understand that there are financial reasons for making people sign contracts and having them be members for more than a few months, but it really is an old model of doing things. Today, and tomorrow’s consumer isn’t ready to be taken for a ride. If we are using something, we’ll pay for it. If we aren’t, we can’t be expected to shell out hard earned cash.
