Website Redesign

Blog / Sunday, February 23rd, 2014

I’ve been talking about redesigning my website for a while now but I finally got around to doing it and designed it in a way that I like. That last part is so important, you don’t even know. I think I had two or three designs I scrapped or never pushed live because I couldn’t get them to look quite right. The colors were a bit off or the formatting didn’t work how I wanted it to, or something. Finally though, I sat down yesterday and churned out a design I’m really happy about in no more than an afternoon.

This time I did it right too. My last design didn’t take advantage of child themes and was essentially just a copy of another theme with every page customized in tedious detail. Even then, there were bits of it which weren’t quite finished. For example, if you typed in a URL wrong, the “404 Page Not Found” page would show up but the formatting on it wasn’t finished. And to think I left it that way for a couple of years knowing full well what I hadn’t done.

Take a look around. Agree with me on the beauty. Tell me if something isn’t working quite right. Tell me if you hate it.

  1. For what it’s worth, the girlfriend gave my a suggestion on improving the font and I think it helped. It’s now a little more condensed and the font color is as dark as it can be.
