Today’s Lunch

Blog

Today’s lunch was exactly what I expected it to be, with a few more toppings than I expected. Also, five feet of pizza for nine people is a lot when most people don’t pull their own weight. Take a gander:  Five feet of pizza apparently comes in two boxes. To make the day better, I […]

Friday’s Lunch

Blog

Earlier this week, my boss sent out an email instructing us to not bring a lunch on Friday. We’ve discussed the possibility of this being a cruel joke where no one has lunch from Friday but we’re thinking pizza.

Project Advancements due to Open Source

Blog, Writing

I’ve been a supporter of the open source community for a long time. This project requires a lot of programming functions which I could spend weeks painstakingly researching and writing and debugging. While I’ve dabbled with the project here and there since the original spark in my mind, I’ve really come into it full force since stumbling across a few more pay versions of it. Consider it my way of giving back to a community who has given me so much already and hopefully spreading the reach of open source to new backers.

Phil Woodman

Blog

Today shall be remembered as the day I stood a mere five feet from a local grocery store legend, Phil Woodman. For those of you who don’t know who I’m talking about: By chance I saw him as I doubled back to see if the new Waukesha Woodman’s carries papaya (not as far as I […]

Father’s Day

Blog

My mom took this photo of my dad and me on Thanksgiving, right after I had gotten home from Peace Corps. It’s special because it’s one of the very few photos I know of where my dad is smiling. For holidays and birthdays, buying gifts for my dad is a really hard thing to do. […]

Terrible Customer Service

Blog, Motorcycles

I love my motorcycle. I really do and I think that I’ve made that clear over the years. You’ve heard stories and seen pictures. If you’ve never been sick of my love for my motorcycle, you must never have really had a chance to get to know me. The problem is, however, that motorcycles can […]

The Long Project

Blog

At work, I’ve been working on the same project since January. It’ll probably be the highest billed project of the year. For someone who’s still learning things, it’s been a bit of a challenge but a great teacher as I’ve had to dip my hand into a little of everything. I’ll be the first to […]

Pulled Pork and Other Cooking

Blog

I don’t think I’ve mentioned this, but I started a thing. I like cooking and I like eating and I like writing. It’s simple enough, no? Well, that’s not all of it. Back in March I was damned close to getting my foot in the door at a publishing company as an editor. I had […]

Pulled Pork

Recipes

There comes a point in everyone’s life where they need to see if a crock pot is meant for them. Some people, myself included, relish in the idea of throwing everything into one pot and leaving it to cook for the day. Others consider that notion and debate if the result is really highbrow enough […]
