This is what we ordered as an appetizer on the last date I was on. We both read the menu and it said, “Baby Octopuses” but neither of us thought they’d actually be whole, baby octopuses.

She had a few, and I ended up eating most of them. We both struggled with the idea of putting a whole octopus in our mouths. I forced myself to struggle less because I didn’t want them to die in vain.

Side note, we considered releasing them into the fish tank near the door in hope that the water would revive them but deep down we knew it wouldn’t. The soy sauce we put on them didn’t make a difference and that was evidence enough.
