November – Day 6

Blog / Sunday, November 6th, 2011

Today, I was asked to update my résumé as a part of my 30 Day Challenge. I did, though I have a feeling that I didn’t take it as seriously as I will nine months from now when I start looking for a job. It’s nice to have some job security. But then I wonder if I actually do have security in my job seeing as how one of my friends in Ukraine is no longer in Ukraine as of Friday. It’s a long story but to sum it up, she felt forced out of her place and decided to go home instead of being sent home.

If you’d like to see my résumé, I keep it on dannyzawacki.com. It’s definitely not polished like a résumé should be, but I keep it there for my own purposes and it’s not the resume I send for jobs.

I topped off the weekend of writing with another 2,288 words today. That brings my total for the weekend to 6,551. That’s more than double of what I had before the weekend. Go me.

I cooked my duck today. It wasn’t bad at all. Here’s a picture:

I also shaved for the first time since Movember began. I make no claims about being able to grow a mustache. Here’s an update:

The only problem is that today I received an invitation to Diaspora* which is a social network where you’re in control of your data. I’ve been really interested in this project since its inception. I logged in this morning to find that I already had this social network. It’s basically a less polished version of Google+. There were only two things about it that I wish Google+ had, the bar along the top staying with you as you scroll and the ability to mute individual streams. They even call the streams streams too. There’s just a lot more people on Google+ than there is on Diaspora. That’s saying something. It’s not drawing my attention any time soon.

Oh, and I guess I started tweeting again (I stopped when my Chrome plugin went haywire on me earlier this year). You can follow me if you want to.
