Tech Tips – Passwords

Tech Tips / Friday, March 4th, 2011

When creating a password, it’s easiest to create a password you will remember but an easy password is hardly a strong password. Peace Corps policy requires a password to be at least eight characters long. It must contain at least three of the four following types of characters: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, or special characters (!@#$). “Peace2011” is a valid password but it isn’t a strong password because it contains a properly spelled word and numbers. Use your creativity to write your password. “Peace2011” could be written “P3@(e2Oll”. It has the same meaning, but much harder to crack.
