It’s the weekend, what more do you want?

Blog / Sunday, April 13th, 2008

Well it’s the weekend and I suppose, as it has been of late, that it is time for me to write a little something.

Big news, at least for me and this site, I managed to get the layout working as I desire on all four of the major web browsers. My apologies if the one you use is not one of those and the site still is messed up. It is slightly time consuming for me to track down all the browsers people use and make sure everything looks nice. If there is one you use and would like it to be fixed (if not looking right) drop me a line danny@sassyhacksaws.com.

I have also noticed that I am getting copious amounts of spam in the comments. The weird thing is that the spam is just a name and no ads, links, or gibberish. Also, the spam only resides on the blog post from March 10th. I think I have deleted over a hundred in the past week. Whoever you are, get a life.

I have been doing a little experimenting here and there with my art. I like trying new things, but I am not a fan of leaving my pencil and paper. Ink was a big step for me, and I really like it. I did a little work with Crayola’s earlier this year (crayon and marker) those were fun but I always feel that adding color ruins my work. I even tried a little charcoal earlier this week. Today, I tried something a little different.

I have had a Wacom tablet for some time, and I use it on and off. It was hooked up again the other day for some reason or another. So today, instead of writing my paper as I should have, I sat down with it and played with it a bit. I tried inking a comic that way. I liked how it looked. Clean. However, slighly time consuming. Also, I am not too good with it, but perfect practice makes perfect. But the point of my story is, I might try doing a weeks worth of comics both in ink and on the computer, just to see how they turn out. Granted, this won’t be until school slows down a bit.

On less of a business note, I went out last night. A friend was throwing a ‘no pants dance.’ It was quite the experience. I think I was the only straight guy there. It was slightly uncomfortable, but fun nonetheless. So if you are having trouble thinking of a theme for a party, try ‘no pants.’ If you do, drop me a line because I am in.
