A few for the books

Blog / Monday, March 31st, 2008

I think today deserves a bit of a celebration. So many things happened that it is impossible for one to not celebrate.

First, and maybe the most important, I finished my first sketch book. This is something I have never done before. I always come to a point where I either give up drawing for a while or switch to a different book. But not today, today I switch because I finished. My mother told me she had similar situations, never finishing a whole sketch book. Its a shame too, I am in possesion of a few of them and it’d be nice if there were more. Maybe I will post a few some day, if she is ok with that. What do you say mom? What about you readers? Ever finished, or not finished, a sketch book?

Another thing to celebrate are the updates to the site. You may have noticed the new design for the archives. I hit a break through in my programming, I found an easier way to do what I was doing, and it all came together. I know things are still not perfect so let me know if you find problems. Also let me know what you think. Is this new system better?

This next celebration is more for me than you, but I’ll let you in on it any way. I finally got around to fixing problems in my administration pages. I now am able to easily delete spam comments. I hate spammers. I also added a few changed to the databases to make transitions into new systems go a little more smoothly for me.

I guess all I have left on my list of things to do for the site is to get it all working correctly in Firefox. I apologize for negleting this for so long. I am not sure if it was the best thing, but I put the other changes above this one.

I also want to ask if there is any content people wish to see here? Maybe some links to comics I read religiously or blogs that I enjoy? Leave me a message letting my know what would be good to add.

In relation to the comic, today’s strip should be the end of the current storyline. That is to say that I want the strip to move on, but do not forget what happened here because an event like this can only lead to something coming up in the future. Don’t you think? I don’t have any plans for it set in stone, but I know it will be a factor in the future. Until then, enjoy the new random comics and maybe a few new stories.

As for me, I think I will catch some sleep before the week hits me like a freight train. However, I want to leave you with this conversation I overheard while wandering the streets last night:

“Do you know what it is like to be an alcoholic?”

“No”

“Do you know what it is like to be a heroine addict?”

“No…I know what it is like to eat McDonalds…a lot.”
