January 2009 – Requested more letters of recommendation to fill in for the ones that weren’t completed yet. A week later I had five of the required three.

February 2, 2010 – Follow-up documents to fill out

March 5, 2010 – Initial interview

March 11, 2010 – Nomination for TESL in Eastern Europe

March 20, 2010 – Began ESL tutoring

April 16-19, 2010 – Medical (round 1) and Dental checkups

May 8, 2010 – Vision checkup

May 20, 2010 – Breakup

July 12, 2010 – Accepted full time, salaried job offer

July 19, 2010 – Telephone follow-up interview, post-apartment hunting

July 21, 2010 – Informed my soon to be boss that I had to decline the position

July 27, 2010 – Final medical visit

August 5, 2010 – Accepted invitation to Teach English as a Foreign Language in the Ukraine from September 17, 2010 to December 17, 2012

September 17, 2010 – Fly to Washington D.C. for staging

September 18 – 19, 2010 -Fly from D.C. to Frankfurt, Germany to Kyiv, Ukraine

September 18 – September 21, 2010 – Stuck in DC

November 22, 2010 – Birthday

December 6, 2010 – Left Stariy Bilous

December 9, 2010 – Became official Peace Corps Volunteer

December 10, 2010 – Arrived in Konotop

December 25, 2010 – Celebrated American Christmas with volunteers

December 31, 2010 – Celebrated New Years with counterpart

January 7, 2011 – Celebrated Old New Year with Ukrainian family

February 23, 2011 – First Man Day

February 26, 2011 – First Camp Excite, School #12 in Konotop

March 8, 2011 – Women’s Day

March 20 – 23, 2011 – Spring Break trip to Venice, Italy

March 26 – 27, 2011 – Camp Excite, Pedagogical Institute in Sumy

April 16 – 17, 2011 – Camp Excite, Sumy

April 24, 2011 – Eastern Orthodox Easter Celebrations

May 9, 2011 – Victory Day

May 27, 2011 – Jud (fellow PCV in Konotop) finishes service. Last day of classes.
