Planning planning planning

So it’s 22 days until we close on the house. In that time the seller is making some repairs, putting on a new roof, upgrading the electrical, and installing a new furnace. Meanwhile, all Ellie and I can do is plan.

We can pick paint colors but we can’t put them on walls. We can decide what goes where but we can’t actually move anything. We can dream about how things will be different but we cannot activate on those dreams. All we can do is plan.

I’m trying to spend my time wisely. We will come up with an idea of what we would like to do and then I go investigate what it would take to do that. We know we want a dishwasher but we need to figure out where it will go and how we’ll I stall it. Ideally, we will be able to install it ourselves but neither of us has that hint of home repair under our belts so it’s a little daunting. I can watch YouTube videos, mostly This Old House, and get an idea on how to approach the upgrades but I really just want to dive in and do the thing.

Related note, is it a bad idea to install a dishwasher next to a stove? Is that a hazzard?

The good thing is that I have plenty of time to learn. And then we will have plenty of time to do. If anyone wants to pitch in, just let me know.
